Beginnings
Ramsay's first role on television was on the 1998 T.V. show "Boiling Point," starring Gordon Ramsay opening the Restaurant Gordon Ramsay. It was said that upon viewing the footage, even Gordon himself was shocked by how he acted, admitting that the stress may have gotten to him at one point.

"The F Word" was also a popular show where Gordon starred in. It's premise was to have a guest cook (usually a celebrity) prepare a dish of their own choosing and have it compete against a similar dish prepared by Gordon. The dishes were judged by customers who were made unaware of which dish was cooked by which person. If the guest cook wins, their dish is served at Gordon's restaurant.

MasterChef
Arguably one of his most famous appearances on television, Gordon Ramsay served as a producer and judge on the US version of MasterChef from 2010 to 2019 as of now. In MasterChef, home-cooks compete for the title of "MasterChef," the fame that comes with it, and a large sum of money.

Outcome
Gordon Ramsay's television career revolutionized television shows and the limits on profane language. In addition, he was also a driving force in the popularization of cooking shows as well, proving that cooking could still be entertaining through the medium of television.
Gordon's shows, in the end, are double edged swords. Some have most definitely been inspired to cook and even to pursue a career in it. However, the way that the shows paint cooking professionally in a chaotic and negative light have also most definitely kept some others away from cooking too.
